Description:

News-Herald Media, based in Marshfield, Wis., is looking for a creative multimedia photojournalist to join our news team. The person in this position takes photos and video footage to illustrate stories for all products on all platforms with emphasis on breaking news, local content and targeted audiences. This person performs varied work involving photo/video assignments and demonstrates initiative above and beyond taking quality photos by exercising good news judgment and alerting and assisting reporters in news gathering, which may include, but is not limited to, writing stories to accompany photos. Multimedia photojournalists work in several formats, including photography, video, mobile, print and online. This position involves daily deadline-driven editing of images and news videos for marshfieldnewsherald.com and its sister publications, primarily throughout central Wisconsin. The multimedia photojournalist will handle daily uploading of content to all News-Herald Media platforms and will assist in managing those platforms.

The candidate will be required to work flexible hours dictated often by news events and our need to respond quickly and effectively. College degree in journalism or related field and previous experience at a daily newspaper or other professional news organization is preferred.  Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.

Candidates should have experience working on a Mac platform using Adobe Photoshop and video editing software. Proficiency with various photography equipment, video cameras and audio gear is necessary along with the ability to shoot and edit compelling news photos and video under constant deadlines for web and mobile. A solid, working knowledge of social media tools, such as Twitter and Facebook is also necessary in order to make content available in new and effective ways.

Excellent grammar and spelling abilities, accuracy, attention to detail, cooperation, organization and time management, trustworthiness and problem solving is a must.
