Description:

We are seeking an experienced news reporter to cover the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the leading newsletter on that beat, Inside FERC.

 

The job requires detailed and insightful coverage of electricity and natural gas regulation and its impact on those industries. Experience in Washington agency and congressional coverage is strongly preferred as is energy industry experience.

 

 

Required:
 

• 3+ years of news reporting experience
• BA in Journalism preferred
• Must have an interest in delving into economic regulation of key industries
• Must have experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to write clean, concise copy (daily and weekly) under deadline pressure
• Must have proven reporting and writing skills including attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience working as a member of a team is essential
• Experience in gas, electric or related industries is desirable
• Experience reporting on government agencies and Congress preferred
