Description:

A global newswire focused on competition law is looking to hire a reporter to cover court proceedings and regulatory agency enforcement. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of litigation and regulatory processes, be a fast and accurate writer and possess a competitive attitude toward breaking news.

Preference will be given to journalists who have a proven record of thoughtful legal coverage. We would also consider candidates within the legal industry who may lack a journalistic background, providing the candidate has a thorough working knowledge of the US court system and possesses excellent writing skills.

The reporter will be responsible for covering complex criminal and civil proceedings accurately and in a manner that is both engaging and understandable to readers.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, since the position will require extensive coordination with North American beat reporters as well as journalists around the globe.

Requirements: Minimum of one to three years legal reporting experience, preferably covering court proceedings.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Occasional domestic and international travel.
  • Maintaining an understanding of the current antitrust enforcement environment.

If you meet the above qualifications, please send your resume and cover letter with at least three writing samples to legal.reporter.dc@gmail.com.
