 ExploreLI.com -- Newsday's award-winning restaurants, arts, entertainment and things to do website -- is looking for a Venue Manager to produce engaging online packages, originate and create new guides and photo galleries, promote content and keep the website current. The position is based in our headquarters in Melville, Long Island.

 The ideal candidate is sharp, hardworking and flexible, with keen organization skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities and an understanding of the importance of page views and strategies for increasing them.

Duties:

• Handles all programming of ExploreLI.com section fronts
• Updates event-based guides (weekend guide, holiday guides, etc.) in a timely manner
• Programs the weekly ExploreLI newsletter
• Identifies opportunities for new content creation and produces that content independently
• Posts stories from the daily print section to the website
• Enhances existing venues to ensure the best-possible user experience; adds and deletes venues as necessary
• Produces special sections like the twice-yearly Bridal Planner and the annual ExploreLI magazine
• Handles all ExploreLI social media – posts daily to Twitter and Facebook and responsible for the growth of both of these. Also promotes our reviews and guides on FourSquare when appropriate.
• Creates/produces new multimedia and programs existing multimedia to create compelling ExploreLI packages
• Contributes to blogs as assigned
• Works on community outreach projects
• Assists with other projects as assigned
