The Hermiston Herald is seeking a dynamic editor, offering a rare opportunity to grow with a company that values community journalism. The Herald is part of the EO Media Group, an award-winning, family-owned company for over 100 years. EO Media Group also publishes the nearby daily East Oregonian in Pendleton, Ore. The Herald editor will lead a staff of three reporters in local coverage of Hermiston and surrounding Oregon communities. The Herald is published in print twice weekly and is updated online daily. Five-plus years of reporting and editing experience, plus leadership experience, is required.  Multimedia and Internet experience also important. This is a hands-on position that includes editing stories, reporting, opinion writing, photography, page layout and active involvement in the community. Consideration will be given to candidates looking to live in this growing ranching and farming community for the long term. Hermiston is near the Columbia River and the Blue Mountains, and offers outstanding hunting, fishing, hiking and other outdoor recreation. The region is one of Oregon's leading agricultural centers built around irrigated farming and dryland wheat.
