Description: Transport Topics Publishing Group seeks an eager and detail-oriented copy editor to join its award-winning publications team as deputy copy chief. This position is responsible for helping oversee the accuracy, editorial style and content of stories appearing in our publications dealing with the trucking and freight transportation industries. Duties include writing headlines/cutlines/captions; working with reporters and freelancers on the crafting of and development of stories and coordinating with production and content editors on story placement, photo selection and page layouts. BA/BS degree in Journalism or English with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in copy editing and writingrequired. The successful applicant must have excellent editing and communications skills. A working knowledge of AP Style is a must. The ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlineswhile being extremely detail-oriented is also essential.
