Description:
Engineering News-Record, the leading source of news and data for the construction industry, is looking for an experienced business journalist to report for its Southwest Bureau in Phoenix. The freelance editor will work closely with the West Coast Bureau Chief to produce hard-hitting business stories that will help construction industry professionals gain an edge and do their work more effectively. Experience should include a minimum of five years reporting business news and/or working on the staff of a newspaper, consumer magazine or B2B journal. Multimedia skills are a must: Applicants should be comfortable producing print and online stories—as well as creating e-newsletters, blogging and attending industry events. Video skills are a plus. Applicants ideally are fluent in Mac and PC environments and can use basic editing tools—such as Microsoft Office—and publishing software—such as Adobe InCopy. An understanding of real-estate development, architecture, construction and engineering is preferred but not required. ENR will equip the freelance editor with the necessary tools to do the job and pay on a per-assignment basis. If you are interested in joining our team, please paste your cover letter and resume into an email with the subject “SW Freelance Editor” and send to ENRSouthwest@mcgraw-hill.com
