We’re looking for a reporter who is energetic and passionate about the role journalism plays in a community. He or she should be a curious and thorough reporter and a good writer. We have won many prestigious regional and national awards, including our regional Society of Professional Journalists general excellence award in four out of the last six years, including the last two. We value enterprise reporting and we are quick to respond to breaking news.

Duties of this position will include:

* Coverage of local government, politics, schools and business in two of the communities within our circulation area.

* At least one other major beat. Our immediate need is for someone familiar with issues and reporting on public health and the health care industry.

*Occasional content management responsibilities for our website, tdn.com.

Recent college graduates will be considered, but experience as a City Desk reporter and/or Online Producer is preferred. Other desirable qualifications include:

*A record of success on a major beat for another publication.

*Ability to cover night events on deadline.

*Familiarity with social media.

*Photo and/or photo editing skills.

*Copy editing skills.
