Description:

The Aerospace Group of Access Intelligence is looking for a managing editor for its aviation products. The candidate will assist the editor-in-chief in producing monthly print magazine, daily Web content, Webinars, podcasts, and special print and E-media projects. The candidate will also serve as the principal liaison with graphic designers and IT production staff in overseeing projects to on-time completion. Additionally, the candidate will assist in story writing and development for various print and online products.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports Editor in Chief in collecting photos for print articles and copy editing
  • Interacts with clients and manages production of print and digital special projects, including email newsletters, show guides, and special supplements
  • Assists in producing webinars by preparing background PowerPoint presentation, Web site landing page
  • May be asked to attend and cover trade shows, press conferences, industry events

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree in Journalism, English, Communications or other relevant field or commensurate experience. Previous aviation industry experience a plus.
  • Two to four years of publishing/magazine experience
  • Proficiency with desktop publishing word processing software and content management systems, and knowledgeable in effective use of graphic design.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet regular daily and long-term deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills in communicating with designer and production staff, outside sales staff, advertisers and editorial sources
