Do you want to delve deeper into meaningful use, health information exchange and telemedicine?

We're seeking a detail-oriented critical thinker who can navigate the intersection of information technology and health care. An Associate Editor/Editor who can analyze and summarize complex health IT policy issues for tens of thousands of readers worldwide.

iHealthBeat, a daily news publication covering the impact of technology on health care, includes summaries of the day's most important health information technology news, multimedia, long-form reported features and infographics. The publication is read by lawmakers, policymakers, researchers, health care professionals and more. The Associate Editor/Editor will:

• Participate in news gathering process, as well as select and assign stories for daily publication
• Write, edit and enter content into the publishing system
• Occasionally write long-form reported features
• Create regular infographics
• Actively manage social media outlets
• Manage staff writers
• Interact with clients and readers
• Regularly contribute to sister publication California Healthline
• Collaborate with other editors within the department
• Think creatively about content and generate new ideas
• Develop relationships with industry, policy and academic news sources

The Associate Editor/Editor will work in the Advisory Board Company's News Division, which includes American Health Line, California Healthline, the Daily Briefing, the Daily Women's Health Policy Report, and the Greater Cincinnati Health Watch -- news publications covering a broad range of health policy issues that are read by thousands of people in government, advocacy and business groups. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of work experience
• Demonstrated writing and editing experience in a professional environment
• Demonstrated expertise in health policy, preferably health IT
• Demonstrated ability to produce content for online media
• Proven to be organized, task-oriented, proactive, and deadline-driven

Ideal Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Online Media
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to build relationships while negotiating, prioritizing, and managing concurrent projects
