This position supports the communications efforts of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA), with a particular focus on audiovisual, social and new media efforts. The incumbent will play an active role in creating ATA’s positive message of safety and essentiality.  The individual in this role will also serve as primary backup to the Vice President of Communications and Press Secretary in his/her absence.

Education/Background

BS/BA preferred in Communications, Journalism or related field plus 2 or more years experience in news, public affairs or public communications required. Prior experience in high-pressure “newsroom” situations with deadline, short turn-around atmosphere preferred.The right candidate will possess a wide range of skills, including use of video and photographic equipment, video editing, excellent writing and familiarity with social media and other Web-based tools. 

Candidates should provide an example of previous video work (i.e. a brief demo reel) and be prepared to demonstrate the ability to write to the standards of ATA’s Office of Public Affairs.
