Financial News Writer (Hedge Fund)

  The Deal LLC, an award-winning financial multi-media division of TheStreet, Inc., is seeking a trading/finance news writer to follow economic developments and the markets and to provide real-time coverage to a sophisticated audience. The news writer will be responsible for sifting through a deluge of financial information generated each day by corporations, lenders, government agencies, asset managers, debt/equity analysts and other financial actors to cull out items of interest to hedge funds and other private investment vehicles, high net worth individuals and institutional investors. In addition, the news writer will work closely with The Deal’s newsroom personnel to identify Deal-generated content relevant to the target audience and produce original content through analysis or synthesis of existing stories and by developing sources in the industry. The result will be a continuously updated, tightly focused news feed pushed to subscribers throughout the trading day.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

  • Excellent writing and analytic skills

  • Ability to meet constant deadlines

  • Knowledge of financial markets

  • Supportive attitude and the ability to function well in a team environment

  • Two to four years writing for a financial news outlet or related experience
