The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Divisional GM who will collaborate with the station General Managers on matters of strategic and operational planning, organizational change, business decision-making and overall leadership of their division. They will work closely with the Sr. VP of TV and the rest of the corporate team to set the strategic direction of the division and make decisions on the successful operation of our TV stations.  This position will reside in a location to be determined.

* Provide leadership to our GM's and TV stations with setting an inspired vision for the responsibility of a local TV station to serve community by: telling compelling stories, having the courage to ask and answer hard questions, innovating new ideas, creating value for advertisers and providing market changing community service. * Motivates, leads, and empowers others to achieve their goals * Collaborate with station GM's to develop and execute the short-term and long-term strategy for each station while providing guidance that keeps daily operations aligned content, Product and Delivery * Work with station GM's to create an environment that fosters innovation and drives the design, content, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services for each station * Ensure that each station is adhering to near term and long-term financial goals. Ensure adherence to all federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as corporate policies and procedures. * Serve as a spokesperson for the division within the industry * Represent the company to ensure our mission is clear and well-communicated to all stakeholders: division employees and management, geographic communities that we serve, Industry groups and associations, external media, financial community, Scripps board of directors, and other industry leaders. * Work with corporate team to ensure that the company is using the most effective technology and media to communicate our product to our customers. Evaluate opportunities for technology innovation to advance the organization's initiatives. * Ensures that the division attracts, develops and retains the best talent for organizational success. * Support station GM's with the oversight for the coordination of all station operations, activities and providing the staff with positive motivation, direction and insight. * With the stations GM's, work to identify people and processes that generate audience and revenue. Commit to the creation of news and revenue strategies, programming content and the marketing of that content, with a focus on the station brand and customers on any and all platforms * Work with the station GM's and corporate team to develop strategic plans for station's future growth in technology and multi-platform content delivery. * Provide professional, positive, visible leadership in the television and digital industries * Create regular communication systems with the station General Managers. Set clear, measurable internal expectations for the management of the station and its goals * Provide consistent direction, training and developmental opportunities for GM's and senior managers. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners. * Responsible for all aspects of financial statements and ensuring station compliance with Scripps policies regarding those statements. * Enforce all FCC, EEO, SOX and any other appropriate rules and regulations. * Understand and adhere to company policies, and at all times adhere to the highest ethical standards. * Communicate with corporate and division executives on station activities and budget. * Perform other duties as may be assigned Education & Experience/Certifications * Four year college degree or equivalent years of experience * Requires a proven leader with a winning track record of providing leadership, revenue growth and an understanding of a media business environment * At least five years' experience in a General Manager or senior management position preferred.

?Skills & Abilities: * Must be proficient with station computer systems * Knowledge of HD and multi-platform technologies (internet, secondary digital channels, etc. ) preferred * Ability to manage and direct the activities of a television station * Prepare and monitor station budgets; maintain compliance with FCC rules and regulations * Organize, motivate and supervise GM and staff * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Proven ability to cultivate innovation and risk-taking * Exhibit diverse media knowledge and experience * Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the company's mission * Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-moving environment * Establish cooperative working relationships both internally and externally If interested, please apply online at
