The Travel section at U.S. News & World Report (http://travel.usnews.com/) is seeking recent graduates for an internship position. The position includes a significant amount of research, data analysis, writing, and reporting. We’re looking for someone who is web-savvy and able to juggle a variety of responsibilities. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated self-starter with a strong interest in online media, writing and travel. Candidates with varied travel experience are preferred.

Responsibilities will include:

Researching, writing, and editing travel guides
Preparing content for our Best Hotels rankings and our Best Vacations rankings
Researching, writing, and editing feature content
Offering ideas and opinions on the direction, development, and design of U.S. News Travel
Contributing to Social Media efforts

Requirements:

Strong editing skills—you should be capable of being both editor and copyeditor, able to catch minor grammatical errors, and discern broader subject-matter problems
Attention to details a must
Ability to work on deadlines and handle several tasks simultaneously
Strong communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with content management systems a plus
Knowledge of Photoshop and photo editing tools a plus
Understanding of SEO concepts a plus
Degrees or training in journalism or communication a plus

The internship will last 6 months. Our internship rate is $12/hour.
