The Travel section at U.S. News & World Report ( is seeking recent graduates for an internship position. The position includes a significant amount of research, data analysis, writing, and reporting. We’re looking for someone who is web-savvy and able to juggle a variety of responsibilities. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated self-starter with a strong interest in online media, writing and travel. Candidates with varied travel experience are preferred.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Researching, writing, and editing travel guides
  • Preparing content for our Best Hotels rankings and our Best Vacations rankings
  • Researching, writing, and editing feature content
  • Offering ideas and opinions on the direction, development, and design of U.S. News Travel
  • Contributing to Social Media efforts


  • Strong editing skills—you should be capable of being both editor and copyeditor, able to catch minor grammatical errors, and discern broader subject-matter problems
  • Attention to details a must
  • Ability to work on deadlines and handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with content management systems a plus
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and photo editing tools a plus
  • Understanding of SEO concepts a plus
  • Degrees or training in journalism or communication a plus

The internship will last 6 months. Our internship rate is $12/hour.
