DIGITAL EDITOR. Missouri Lawyers Media seeks a digital editor to develop and manage content for our widening array of digital news and information services for Missouri attorneys. Responsibilities include managing the content and navigability of our website,; assembling daily and breaking news alerts; and continually working on features and innovations to serve readers and build paid audience. Ours is a digital-first newsroom, where you’ll have an integral role as part of the news team. You’ll also have an interdisciplinary role, reporting directly to the publisher and working with our advertising and circulation staff, the corporate IT team, and colleagues around the country. The position requires strong journalism skills, particularly news judgment and accuracy on deadline; presentation skills, using words, graphics and multimedia to convey information and engage users; strong audience development instincts; the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team; can-do, hands-on ability to complete projects; strategic thinking; and some technical skill, particularly proficiency with WordPress and HTML. Missouri Lawyers Media includes and six daily and weekly business newspapers for lawyers, among them Missouri Lawyers Weekly, winner of state and national awards for investigative reporting, business coverage, general excellence and, twice in the past five years, winner of the Missouri Press Association Gold Cup as the best weekly newspaper in the state.
