Description:

The Daily Advertiser is looking for a versatile and experienced reporter to cover our distinctive arts and entertainment scene in the heart of Cajun Country.

Our coverage area is just two hours from New Orleans, yet it has its own southern Louisiana vibe. From award-winning Cajun and zydeco musicians to Mardi Gras to the Festival International de Louisane, we need someone who can reflect the spice of our region across multiple print and digital platforms. The reporter we seek is able to demonstrate deep knowledge of various music genres, and would be just as comfortable reviewing a theatrical production as writing about pop culture.

A strong candidate will have a passion for storytelling and will help us create a buzz about our entertainment coverage and reach readers in new ways, including social media and multimedia content.

He or she should enjoy blogging and tweeting about all kinds of entertainment and cultural events and understand the potential of engaging our audience on multiple platforms.

Candidates must have at least three to five years of reporting experience. To apply, email samples of your work, a resume and a short cover letter to Executive Editor Karen Lincoln Michel, kmichel@gannett.com.

The Daily Advertiser is an equal opportunity employer.
