Description:

The Lansing State Journal, mid-Michigan's most dynamic media company, is seeking candidates for a digital product manager. This position is the technical supervisor for our web and mobile platforms, including their interface with other LSJ technology systems including email distribution, advertising and more.

The key roles of this position are to pursue constant innovation and improvement in user experience and to aid the LSJ digital team in delivering content. Vendor- and corporate-driven updates to our technology also require regular product maintenance.

This is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate to join a digital team driving real change in an experienced newsroom that’s doing great community journalism.

Skills an applicant should have:
Gotta have — HTML and CSS, experience with large, dynamic sites and content management systems (we use Saxotech, but not for long)
Even better if you have — GEL Framework fluency, strong PHP skills
Bonus if you have — kung fu with Javascript, Adobe Creative Suite, Django, Python, Ruby, RoR, and experience working for a news organization.

We’re also looking for a skilled communicator, eager collaborator, and a candidate with 5-7 years of digital product management experience in a mid-size to enterprise environment.
