Description: Accomplished Journalist, Senior Tenure-Track Position The University of Connecticut Journalism Department seeks an accomplished journalist with a substantial record of publication for a senior, tenure-track position beginning in Fall 2013. The department, an ACEJMC accredited program in a new facility, is a professional news-editorial program within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities will include: teaching news reporting and writing and one of the following - journalism law, ethics or history; publishing journalism or journalism-related research for leading news organizations or publishers; advising students; participating on departmental committees. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in journalism or a related field; ten years of significant professional experience as a reporter or editor, excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrable ability to teach newswriting and either journalism law, ethics or history; substantial record of publication for leading news organizations or publishers. Preferred Qualifications: Additional professional experience; experience in a converged media environment; the ability to contribute through research, teaching and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience, demonstrated excellence teaching at the university level; demonstrated ability to teach in more than one of the following areas: journalism law, ethics or history.
