Description: Position Name: Manager ofSocial Media/Outreach Position Type: Contract, w/full-time potential About the position: We are looking for an experienced, reform-minded, social media and technology savvy individual to lead social media community building and management as well as community outreach responsibilities for Reboot Illinois. The successful candidate will be ready to help us rapidly grow our visibility in communities throughout Illinois through social media efforts and event research, planning and coordination. The candidate will work in tandem with us in building relationships with like-minded civic and media partners and in coordinating fast-paced events and product introductions. The successful candidate will be a word-of-mouth master with a relentless ability to attract followers and create buzz at events. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities include: · Organizing, attending, and/or participating in special events and promotions advocating Reboot Illinois and its mission. Serving as a professional representative of the organization at meetings, special and media events. Developing and implementing all outreach and marketing activities, campaigns, and strategies to promote Reboot Illinois and its products. This can be done through a combination of personal and digital contacts, brochures, public presentations, special events, the Internet, etc. · Building and growing social communities in the digital world. Building and growing fans and followers in the physical world, through organizing of town hall meetings from start to finish. Reaching out to reserve facilities, line up opinion leaders and community groups and generate attendance at events throughout Illinois. · Posting and managing communications on behalf of Reboot Illinois on an inclusive variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, blogs, etc… including status updates, managing community conversation via comments and user feedback. · Managing creative posts with strong ability to source, organize and edit images for use in Reboot social media. · Staying up-to-date and knowledgeable on social and digital trends of communication including new community platforms, conversation trends, i.e. hash tags, etc… · Producing and delivering weekly analytics on community engagement and sentiment. · Building a robust network of social and physical outreach and engagement partners to assist in sharing content and growing conversation. · Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with all partners, followers and like-minded organizations. Developing and implementing an annual outreach plan that includes promotional and educational strategies. Qualifications & Skills: · Must have proficiency in Word and Excel, Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. · Strong interpersonal, research, written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively prepare and present information to groups. Ability to work with a team and work independently to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision. · Must be a facilitator, evangelist and energizer – creating, moderating, and managing exciting and fun conversation.
