Responsibilities: Provide local market sales and marketing leadership * Execute the advertising sales, circulation sales, marketing, and sales operations initiatives proposed by the divisional sales leadership of those areas. * Achieve local sales, revenue and profit goals for advertising sales, circulation sales, and marketing. * Manage sales teams to established metrics and standards regularly reviewing sales metric tools including salesforce.com. * Represent Scripps and the local market brands in the community with a strong focus and emphasis on advertising sales, circulation sales and marketing initiatives. * Establish a local sense of community for employees, which promotes camaraderie, cooperation and teamwork. * Coach, manage, mentor, communicate and execute to optimize sales results. Provide local market leadership including: * Work with Divisional Sales Leadership to execute national sales initiatives. * Develop advertiser relationships and maintain high level of advertiser satisfaction. * Work with Divisional Sales Leadership to assign revenue targets for teams. * Jointly with the Division CRO, develop the appropriate sales talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning, recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments. * Directs activities of and assigns work to advertising sales, circulation sales, and marketing employees; hires, provides direction, trains, coaches, develops, evaluates and addresses performance. Provide market level input into the formation of divisional initiatives, annual budgets and periodic forecasts. * Establish a positive work environment, which is conducive to initiative execution, business simplification and job satisfaction. * Hold regular executive team meetings (all functions) to stay aware of current market issues (community, customer, operations). * Facilitate internal communication throughout all departments. * Coordinate market issues with other functions to ensure smooth day-to-day business operations. * Make immediate real-time decisions when necessary regarding other functions, following up with division functional lead. Education & Experience/Certifications * Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent work experience * 8+ years of management experience with 4 specifically in sales managementWork environment
