Oversee all editorial content including research, article writing and the solicitation of contributing writers, and if you feel like it, wear your slippers. Share with us how you can lead the team on overall concepts and content while managing and monitoring the entire scope of the project. A snapshot of a day in your life at our Roseville, California office: Research and facilitate the submission of all editorial content Secure permission to reprint and edit articles Conduct interviews and write retailer profiles Write Association-based editorial content Lead the proofing process for all collateral Manage vendor relationships Schedule and hold pre-editorial and discovery meetings with stakeholders Maintain database of writers, media contacts and featured profiles Collaborate with the marketing and events staff to develop and deploy Association brand messaging Working daily to enhance our social media presence and make it effective for our business model Optimize strategic relationships within and outside the industry to educate members and further the Associations goals Write, write, and write Edit, edit, and edit Meet, meet, and meet Smile Working within a creative, fun and focused team of marketing junkies, the perfect candidate will be deadline driven, collaborative, somewhat quirky, and possess the following: Mad, mad editing skills… did we say mad skills, yes we did. Confident in use of Adobe Suite programs including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Both PC and MACs are used in the office, so bring your A game. Your work station has an shiny new MAC Proofreading, writing and grammar skills (If it leaves the office, you will have signed off on it) Knowledge of AP Stylebook Analytical and opportunistic approach to job functions Comfortable with numbers and Excel to insure accuracy of budget profitability of publication Self-motivated, self-reliant, team collaborator, thick-skinned, kind hearted, competitive, great karaoke singer A bulldog about details and a project manager extraordinaire Interest in home fashion or the fashion industry is a huge plus Four-year degree in Communications, Journalism or related field and/or equivalent experience 2 years working experience in a communications or marketing department Successful demonstration of desktop publishing techniques and procedures Send salary requirements and resume to cwilliams@whfa.org Including something that demonstrates your writing style would not be a bad idea.
