Woodburn Independent is seeking a full-time general assignment reporter to join our team. Are you a team player who is organized, motivated and able to meet deadlines? You will cover a fast-paced beat that includes city and county government, police and fire. You will also have an opportunity to put your story-telling skills to work as a feature writer and columnist. Previous newspaper experience is required, along with strong interviewing, writing and proofreading skills.

You will be responsible for some page layout and design using Photoshop and QuarkXpress. Photography skills are required. Spanish language skills are a plus, but are not required. Applicants from the Pacific Northwest are preferred.

We are a weekly paper serving one of Oregon's most diverse rural communities. Woodburn is located 30 minutes south of Portland in the Willamette Valley, and just an hour away from Mt. Hood, the Oregon Coast and the Columbia River Gorge.
