SOCIAL MEDIA EDITORS PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES: • Analyse social media trends on news topics related to China and ensure CCTVNews is part of the conversation • To oversee the production of social media content • Support reporters using social media tools in the field • To work with the Producers of CCTVNews to ensure the social media content is supporting the programmes being aired • Manage a small team producing social media content during one shift ESSENTIAL SKILLS: • Excellent English writing and editing, a knowledge of Mandarin is also desirable • Excellent knowledge of both Chinese and International social media platforms and their technical requirements • Ability to find stories before they trend on social media • Wide knowledge of news and current affairs issues in China and the world • Good leadership and communication skills • Experienced in managing social media campaigns • Experienced in analysing social media trends • Up to date with the latest web standards and industry news • At least 2 years of experience in online journalism • At least 2 years of experience in active social media use .SOCIAL MEDIA JOURNALISTS PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES: • Support reporters using social media tools in the field • Oversee, create and distribute social media content for CCTVNews during a shift on the social desk • Liaise with the desk editor to ensure the content of various programmes/reporters is being published effectively via social media • Analyze social media trends related to China and report to the desk editor • Work on CCTVNews social media campaigns ESSENTIAL SKILLS: • Excellent English writing and editing, a knowledge of Mandarin is also desirable • Sound editorial judgment of both international and Chinese issues • Good communication skills • Either experience as a journalist or a graduate of a journalism course • Excellent understanding of either Chinese or international social networks (understanding both desirable) • Experienced in working on social media campaigns • Experienced in analyzing social media trends • Experienced, good and creative writer • At least 2 years of experience in active social media use To apply for either of these posts, please send a resume and short introduction to why you are interested in this job to Zhang Shilei <zhangshilei@cctv.com>.
