Description:

The Free Press of Kinston is seeking an energetic general assignment reporter whose primary responsibilities will include covering local government beats in Kinston and Lenoir County. Ideal candidates will have experience at a daily newspaper or collegiate student newspaper, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. A strong knowledge of AP style and new media is preferred. The Free Press, a Halifax Media Group newspaper with a 10,000 circulation, offers a very competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to work with an outstanding staff. It’s located in Kinston, a shade over an hour from several beaches, 30 minutes from Greenville and less than 90 minutes from Raleigh.
