Title: Multimedia Communications Coordinator

Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer and/or Medical Director

 

The Prostate Cancer Research Institute (PCRI) is a charitable not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of men’s lives by supporting research and disseminating information that educates and empowers patients, families and the medical community.

 

PCRI seeks someone with an editorial background and basic web skills to manage the organization’s publications, social media and web presence. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone with 1-3 years of experience and an interest in nonprofit health communications.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate the editorial and production schedules for a quarterly magazine and weekly/bi-weekly e-blasts.

·         Layout, page design, edit and some copy writing for PCRI’s magazines, brochures and marketing collateral

·         Edit and write copy for PCRI website

·         Edit print and web content for grammar, spelling and style

·         Update PCRI website as needed with text and multimedia content in Wordpress CMS

·         Produce educational web videos for PCRI’s YouTube channel, website,  and educational programs

·         Video events as needed (annual meetings and conferences- AUA, ASCO, etc.)

·         Provide/Post content to social media channels

·         Work with contract web developers to troubleshoot and improve PCRI.org website

·         Assist with other aspects as needed (event planning, fundraising, etc.)

 

Minimum Requirements:

·         BA in communications (or journalism)

·         Excellent copy editing skills

·         Proficiency in Adobe- InDesign and Premiere

·         Comfortable with Wordpress, Drupal or other content management system

·         Experience using social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter

·         Basic HTML skills

·         Experience using a mass e-mail communication service such as Emma or Constant Contact

·         Working knowledge of keywords, web analytics and search engine optimization (SEO)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Graduate degree in journalism or communications

·         Experience working in a nonprofit environment

·         Interest in health and medical communications

·         Experience using HD video camera and lav mics

·         Familiar with FileZilla or other FTP client software

·         Familiar with Adobe connect, WebEX, or other webinar/online training software
