The Portland Press Herald seeks an innovative and seasoned online journalist for the position of Web Editor for pressherald.com.  This editor works closely with the executive editor/interactive in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a dynamic and rapidly growing news website. He/she will work closely with online content producers to direct and determine the placement and content on pressherald.com’s home page, as well as its key subsections.

 The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience working as a key editorial leader in an online news operation and a demonstrated track record of excellent news judgment in a fast-paced, competitive environment. He/she should have extensive familiarity with multi-media, data visualization, and social media. The ideal candidate has strong editing and headline writing skills, and good knowledge of SEO. To succeed, he/she also must possess the ability to think creatively, work well in a team and juggle multiple priorities in briskly-paced online news operation, and works well in a team and collaborative environment.
