The Telegraph seeks a skilled copy editor/paginator with a take charge attitude to head its newsroom during the second shift. The right candidate will be website and social media savvy and be able to juggle multiple priorities on deadline, including dealing with breaking news, reporters, photographers, video editing and computer problems, as well as the printer on the Seacoast, while adhering to deadlines and making sure others do as well.

Candidates should have complete knowledge of AP style, grammar and spelling, with the ability to recognize mistakes and inconsistencies in stories and cutlines and the ability to catch content holes before stories and photos are published, as well as writing accurate and balanced headlines.

The ability to recognize and troubleshoot space constraint problems, ad problems, computer problems, including production system and printing equipment, and website problems is a must, as is being able to step into any role in the newsroom as need be, including producing content, covering breaking news, assigning stories, taking photos and providing help to callers.

The news editor will work closely with other newsroom editors on a daily basis to ensure tight integration with the Telegraph's overall news strategy and to maximize efforts to promote initiatives in print and online. Good communication skills with reporters and the metro desk are essential, as well as with other copy editors and production staff.
