SNL Financial, a premier sector-focused news and information provider, is looking for a top-notch Senior Reporter with experience in the metals and mining industry.

The Senior Reporter will play a crucial role in helping to establish and develop SNL's news coverage in the global metals and mining space. Working with colleagues in Asia, North America and Europe, the Senior Reporter will aim to produce value-added, proprietary content, while also actively contributing to the planning of day-to-day coverage and the mentorship of junior reporters. The Senior Reporter also provides on-the-ground coverage of shareholder meetings, conferences and other significant events.

This position ideally will be based out of our office in Halifax, Nova Scotia, or our headquarters in Charlottesville, Va., though accommodations may be made for the right candidate. 

SNL's news reaches an influential readership that includes analysts, regulators and major players at leading global investment banks. The firm's massive database, which now includes data from the recently acquired Metals Economics Group, offers ample opportunities to enhance and drive that reporting.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or business journalism, combined with at least 3-5 years of professional experience. Reporting experience in the metals and mining industry is highly preferred.
