The Charles City Press, a privately held 5 day a.m. daily in north central Iowa is looking for the best community newspaper managing editor to lead our energetic news staff.

You have the skills, the vision and the drive to run your own news department.  You will write, manage the entire news team, create dynamic layouts, write snappy headlines, shoot compelling photos and cover our community like a blanket.  The right candidate will have a love for traditional print products as well as a vision for the digital transformation and an ease around computers.

As a member of our management team you will have input on newspaper policy and a real ability to effect meaningful change in the newspaper and in the community.

We’re looking for someone to help us grow for the long term.  We have top equipment and our newspaper isn’t going anywhere. You are solid and we are stable. We’ve had the same editor for 15 years.
