Are you seeking a talented journalist looking for variety and a place to do great work? And do you want to live in a dynamic community offering a vibrant, diverse lifestyle – with a culture richly defined by the outdoors, arts and recreation.

The Bemidji Pioneer has an opening for a copy editor/reporter who will spend about 60 percent of the time focused on pagination and copy editing. The remainder of the work will allow for writing great stories, both news and features, in a dynamic, complex and progressive resort community.

Ideally, candidates will have at least a year of professional newspaper experience, although high-performing recent graduates will be considered. Qualified candidates should submit an application demonstrating proven journalism skills as a paginator and reporter, and have the ability to produce timely and fresh online content. Candidates should possess experience with Quark, strong decision-making skills, exceptional time management skills, coolness under deadline pressure and the ability to work independently at times.

The Pioneer is a six-days-a-week Forum Communications Co. newspaper serving the Bemidji area. More than 100,000 people live within a 50-mile radius, and the community serves as the regional hub for Minnesota’s northwoods.
