The Nashville Business Journal is seeking a visual storyteller who can deliver high-impact design for our weekly print edition, special publications and daily website.

The award-winning Nashville Business Journal is Music City’s source of news and connections for business leaders and area professionals. We are a fast-paced news operation that is growing in subscribers, readers and event attendees. Owned by American City Business Journals, the Nashville Business Journal is a sister publication to 43 Business Journals nationwide.

ACBJ is in the midst of a strategic redesign of its business journals, an effort led by design guru Mario Garcia. We’re looking for a design rock star that can innovate and lead Nashville through the process.

The Design Editor is responsible for driving new and creative forms of storytelling on all platforms and is expected to contribute to editorial planning discussions at all levels. Reporting to the Editor in Chief, the Design Editor ensures the highest possible design standards are met by the Business Journal online and in print.

The ideal candidate has a diverse background working with editors, photographers and graphic artists. The Design Editor is expected to stay current and well versed in technological developments impacting design and its execution.

Required experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; Minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience; HTML, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design skills; Work both within, and outside of, the content team; Strong communicator, able to articulate the design vision to editorial and business staffers alike.
