Great American Media Services seeks a full-time professional communicator with proven editorial and organizational skills to contribute to a team that successfully produces national trade publications covering topics in the food industry across multiple platforms, with special focus on fruits and vegetables.     

The assistant editor will handle duties such as helping prepare monthly editorial budgets, writing stories and news briefs, gathering artwork and product information, engaging with our various audiences using social media, copy editing and page proofing,  building editorial board and industry contacts and collaborating on the cover. Some travel to cover news and trade shows is necessary.

A minimum of two years of experience is required, along with proof of strong writing, editing, photo, digital publishing and social media skills. Recent college graduates with a passion for trade publishing and the industries covered will be considered. Knowledge of AP style required.
