Position Title:  Journal Record Legislative Report Manager

Position Summary:

This person will be the primary sales representative for the Legislative Report. This position is accountable for the integrity of the state legislative tracking web site and all information encompassed therein by managing, directing, and controlling all phases of data acquisition and publication to ensure quality standards and timelines are achieved.  Responsible for scheduling, staffing, work flow, and sales reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Primary sales person for all electronic and print publications

·        Facilitate sales and marketing of Legislative Report and specialty products by making prospect lists,
             calling prospects for meetings, facilitating sales meetings, and participating in the creation
             of marketing campaigns and materials

·        Direct production, sales and marketing of on-line subscriptions and specialty products/publications.

·        Train, schedule, lead and manage employees.

·        Assess and evaluate state Capitol operations.

·        Coordinate content gathering and processing for tracking website.

·        Assist in preparation of budget documents, monitor monthly income and expense for variances.

·        Serve as customer service representative and help desk for Legislative report subscribers

·        Serve as back-up for all Legislative Report positions.

·        Develop and manage the implementation of candidate and client surveys and additional interim activities.


·        2 to 3 years sales experience

·        2 to 3 years general business experience

·        Minimum one year experience reporting legislative activities

·        BS/BA in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration or related field.

·        Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel required.

·        Extensive experience using the internet for research purposes.

·        Ability to adapt quickly to new situations.

·        Experience with standard office machines and technology.

·        Ability to work on a personal computer for extended periods of time.

Travel Requirements:

Less than 10%.  Periodic travel to client locations within the state. Occasional travel to inter-company training and events.
