Public Relations Associate

A business-to-business public relations agency located in Los Angeles’ South Bay area has an immediate opening for public relations associate to work in our architectural & construction studio.  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, writing and distributing media materials including press releases, fact sheets, commentaries and feature articles; researching and identifying editorial opportunities; developing compelling story angles and pitches to meet our clients’ business objectives; researching, managing and distributing media clips; and supporting the agency’s senior management staff.

Ideal candidates will have two to four years of full-time agency experience, as well as:

• An understanding of the fundamentals of public and media relations campaigns;
• General knowledge of basic principles used by the media;
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, including proficiency in grammar and punctuation;
• Strong grasp of Associated Press (AP) style guidelines;
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task;
• Ability to effectively and efficiently research critical and time-sensitive information;
• Ability to meet deadlines;
• Expertise in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat; graphic design experience (InDesign or others) helpful and
• A bachelor’s degree in public relations,  journalism or related field
• Social media skills and graphics desired
