Providing news to millions of visitors in the U.S. and around the world, the company is seeking for applicants who are interested in working with Latino and non-Latino related topics in the areas of business, tech, entertainment, health, sports, fashion, and others. 

We are seeking for applicants who wish to land an editing, writing, freelancing, copy-editing, researching or social media managing position. People interested in working par-time for the weekend/night shifts please specify.

Editors

He/She would also polish the media website’s profile/voice help increase its viewership and develop hispanic/latino oriented-related content. We also seek editors for the tech, entertainment, health, sports, fashion, entertainment, fashion & music sections. This position requires an innovative, organized, resourceful and goal-oriented  leader who has a strong vision, a proven track record in management and an obsession with online trends.

  • Several Years of Experience in Editing For an established website Required (not including school papers, blogs, personal websites)
  • Well networked, individual possesses good working relationships with sources that can contribute valueably when reporting in any field of interest
  • Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field required.
  • Have experience in hiring, training, and managing a large team of reporters and interns
  • Proven record for audience building, content development, and online editorial community-building (Web Savvy)
  • High energy, entrepreneurial spirit and team-building approach.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Internet publishing, metrics and usage patterns, including a strong grasp of social media.
  • Committed to quality; organized, accurate and detail-oriented.

 

Reporters

 

Writers/reporters will be working in our fast-paced, New York office. We are looking to hire web-savvy enthusiastic reporters who are capable of  breaking important news as well as researching, writing multiple articles throughout the day and meeting daily deadlines and goals. Candidates must be timely when delivering news stories, write compelling articles, drive traffic, and have great organizational skills. 

 

  • Experience with Journalism, Communications or related field required.
  • Experience writing for an online multimedia publication(Web Savvy)
  • Strong grasp of social media and is proficient with Facebook and Twitter
  • Must be able to work under pressure when necessary
  • Well-versed in AP Style

 

Copy-Editors

  • meticulous, has an eye for detail
  • fast and has ability to copy-edit various articles including fact checking while meeting tight deadlines
  • has a good grasp & dominance of the English language
  • good concentration, to focus on texts that may be lengthy or dull
  • familiar with AP Style
  • a tactful approach when dealing with authors

Researchers

  • compiling data for tables, fact-checking articles, research for writers/editors assistance, research for special sections

 

Social Media Managers

  • Develop social media plans and devise strategies to help grow social media reach, engagement and promote brand throughout various company social media platforms
  • Loves video, very familiar in working with YouTube and growing audience and can identify YouTube celebrities with ease  (not a requirement but a plus)
  • Generate daily analytics reports that inform newsroom decisions and promote cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Develop partnerships with outside organizations and contributors.
  • Track metrics and measure engagement with an eye towards constant improvement
