Description: The Las Vegas Review-Journal has an opening for a full-time reporter covering Clark County government and politics, based in Las Vegas. We’re looking for an independent self-starter with experience covering state, local and federal government and politics with emphasis on watchdog and investigative reporting for online and print publication. Knowledge of Nevada’s unique politics, geography and industry is desirable, as are computer-assisted reporting skills. Clark County is an urbanized area with a population of nearly 2 million. It is home to the City of Las Vegas and nearly three-quarters of all Nevada residents. It has a larger workforce and budget than the state government. The Review-Journal produces the state’s largest daily newspaper and its most-read news website. Las Vegas is…well, if you don’t know what Las Vegas is, this probably isn’t the job for you. To apply, email a cover letter, resume and your three best writing samples to James G. Wright, Deputy Editor, at jwright@reviewjournal.com. Please put “County Beat” and your name in the subject line.
