PAGE DESIGNER/COPY EDITOR — The News & Advance has an opening for a page designer/copy editor to join our desk in Lynchburg, Va., handling pages for The News & Advance and the Danville Register & Bee and two weekly newspapers. Our desk prides itself on smartly designed pages and routinely earns Virginia Press Association awards each year. The job involves designing pages for all sections of the newspapers, writing headlines and display type and proofing pages, in addition to working carefully with local and wire copy. InDesign experience essential, along with strong copy-editing skills. Daily experience preferred, but entry-level candidates with college experience will be considered. You must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. Lynchburg is located in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia.
