The Hays Free Press, an award winning newspaper just south of Austin, is searching for an organized and intellectually curious editor who can clean up stories, meet a deadline, write a good clean story, and deal with whatever the nature of the business throws at you. The ideal candidate must be able to handle a variety of story types from features to breaking news to sports to business pieces.  Some photography is needed, as well as social media and website experience.  InDesign proficiency a plus. Main office situated in Kyle, one of the fastest-growing cities in the state. Editor is expected to live in Buda-Kyle area. Our small staff works together as a family, putting out a great newspaper along with many other products and having fun doing this. Compensation will be based on experience. EOE.
