RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Supervise all aspects of the Herald’s news operation
• Prepare, administer and work within the newsroom budget
• Approve all newsroom hires and promotions
• Review and evaluate work of newsroom staff
• Participate in newsroom labor negotiations and administer the newsroom contract
• Participate in Herald’s Operations Committee
• Serve on the Herald editorial board
• Represent the Herald in the community
• Participate in professional activities as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline and at least four years newsroom experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity
• Strong decision-making skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under deadlines
• A valid driver’s license with a driving record that is insurable by the company
