Description:

The Orange County Register has an opening for a wire editor who can work with a team to produce a daily newspaper report of state, national and international events. We strive for a report that gets behind the day-old headlines and helps readers interpret events by emphasizing the "how and why" of breaking and developing stories.

The right candidate should have

  •  a minimum of 8 years of experience in reporting or editing, preferably on a wire desk.
  •  a deep understading of current issues.
  •  the ability to synthesize wire report in a meaninful and "why it matters" way.
  •  journalism background either in education or training.
