The Villages Daily Sun, America's fastest growing daily newspaper, is seeking news clerks to support for its expanding newsroom.

We are looking for 1 full-time and 2 part-time news clerks.

Successful candidates should be comfortable handling a variety of duties including: data entry of various community listings, rewrite press releasees into the newspaper's style and compile basic news briefs; scan and or/photocopy documents, correspondence and photos; handle some basic paginatoin of assigned features; support the administrative assistants with tasks such as coordinating events, preparing content entries and organizing and maintaining filing systems; and take photographs.

We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits and access to a highly regarded school system in one of the state's most idyllic settings.

In addition to being a fast and accurate typist (60 wpm preferred), applicants should possess basic writing, proofreading and editing skills. Candidates must have excellent computer skills, especially working in a MicroSoft Office environment. Familiarity with AP style preferred. Florida residents familiar with the area are a plus.
