Online Content Producer/Reporter

The Tuscaloosa News, winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting and home of the University of Alabama and its championship Crimson Tide football team, is seeking an online content producer/reporter for all digital platforms and the newspaper. The ideal candidate would have previous experience producing multimedia content for a daily newspaper, sound news judgment, excellent writing and photography skills, ability to shoot and edit video, basic knowledge of HTML, experience with content management systems, proficiency with Photoshop and Microsoft Office and ability to react quickly to breaking news. Responsibilities include helping manage websites, driving web traffic through social media outlets, such as Facebook and Twitter, and other online tools, writing and editing stories, posting stories and photos and collaboratingwith sports, photo and news departments to help develop multimedia elements to accompany stories.Work schedule could include night shifts, weekends and some holidays.
