Description: Exciting Job Opportunity - American Medical News Reporter The successful candidate will serve in downtown Chicago as a reporter for the Business section of American Medical News, an award-winning national print (215,000-circulation) and online news publication (amednews.com) for physicians, published by the American Medical Association. You will be expected to deliver news and feature articles that are thoroughly researched, well-written, and tightly focused on the interests and information needs of our physician audience. This position requires developing articles covering topics related to health care business issues, especially those affecting physicians who own and run their practices. This is not a clinical beat, so medical knowledge and experience with health writing are not prerequisites. You will be covering a critical part of the health sector, which overall accounts for 20 percent of the U.S. economy, and is undergoing massive transformation due to government and private health care reforms. American Medical News is among the best-read medical publications in the nation. Requirements: The AMA also offers employees a unique opportunity -- to play a role in shaping the way health care is provided in this country. We offer a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package, as well as a convenient downtown location. We are an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity in our workforce and we encourage Veterans to apply! To apply for this position, external applicants can submit a resume and media clips to: chris.lenz@ama-assn.org and apply online on the AMA Career page at: www.ama-assn.org for job #3387CJL. We hope to hear from you soon!
