Overnight Online Reporter – Part-Time

The Republican, Springfield, MA

 

The Republican sees a dynamic journalist who loves news, a fast pace and audience development to join our Online Desk as an overnight news reporter; Thursday through Sunday, 1 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

 

Springfield is a city of 150,000 residents, with a metro population of over 500,000.  When the scanner isn’t busy, you will be, working on aggregation, site updates and long-term projects. 

 

We seek a self starter with:

 

  • Experience in breaking news reporting, photography and video production
  • Attention to accuracy, detail, style, spelling and grammar
  • Good news judgment
  • Experience in using content management systems and basic HTML
  • SEO and SMO expertise
  • Direct engagement with our community of users

 

Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
