The FSView Media Group, the independent student publications of The Florida State University seeks a Newspaper Design Team Leader. This position is responsible for supervising the student design specialists and editors to develop content for all FSView Media Group platforms. The right individual for this position will be charged with overseeing the layout, design, and content for all FSView platforms. The right individual for this position will be charged with motivating and coaching the design members and editors to provide superior digital & print design and content.


  • Advise student design, editorial, and photo teams
  • Supervise production specialists on all design, layout and pagination of digital and printed products
  • Develop creative for advertising campaigns and publications
  • Coordinate content with student editorial team for all products
  • Liaison for communication between production, editorial and advertising


  • Ideal candidate will have Bachelor’s degree plus at least three to four years of experience working at a newspaper in editorial and graphics. Graduate of The Florida State University preferred
  • Qualified candidate will be able to produce content in multiple formats (text, photo, video and audio) and also have experience with social media. Design and editing experience is required
  • Proficient knowledge/ability with Microsoft Office Applications, MAC skills, Adobe Creative Suite or similar publishing software.
  • Strong understanding of CMYK print design; knowledge of web design and digital publishing platforms
  • Successful candidate must understand the growing importance of multimedia news
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills required. Must have strong time management and organizational skills; candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured, evolving environment.

  • Ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously
  • Detail oriented and able to react to change productively
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity

Working Hours:  Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Sunday 11am to 7 pmQualified candidates submit resume to for consideration.
