Versatile journalist sought for breaking news/web role

PE.com/The Press-Enterprise, the leading source for breaking news in Inland Southern California online and in print, seek a nimble editor familiar with Southern California communities and issues to direct breaking news stories, photos and videos for the web and print. The position will likely include evenings and/or weekend shifts.

The role is a combination of story editing, assigning, reporting, managing our website, social media and general problem solver. It's a busy shift and seldom boring. 

Primary duties including editing stories and working with reporters on breaking news. It also includes managing the website breaking news areas and social-media engagement. The role will likely include occasional reporting. 

Experience with social media, web posting, line editing, photos and video all helpful. For the right journalist, however, we'll train to fill in any gaps in these areas. We work with such web-enhancement tools as Storify, Thinglink, interactive polling and Google Maps/Charts. Again, if you don't use these tools yet, we'll show you how. 

Experience in Riverside and/or San Bernardino counties is also helpful.
