Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, produce and edit top-quality content – that supports the Illinois Cops Magazine objectives and goals
  • Must have a passion to develop “meaty” content
  • This individual must have the desire and dedication for continuous improvement and must show pride in wanting to become a well-rounded individual through the multi-tasking required in this position.
  • Through copy editing and learning  the production tasks of publishing, this individual will play a key role in all aspects of the development of high-quality content.

Requirements:

  • College degree in journalism or related field.
  • Background in law enforcement a plus.
  • Stellar grammar and spelling skills.
  • Strong writer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and oral.
  • Fast learner, extremely meticulous, independent and self-directed.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Travel required covering various equipment shows, conferences
