Worldnow has an opening on the National Content team which is responsible for aggregating, updating and marketing national content channels and promotions across 100+ local TV news websites. Content channels cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to Education, Health, House & Home, Money, Pets, Recipes, Technology, Weddings as well as seasonal promotions such as Father’s Day and Holiday. 

The Senior Editor position is the lead member of Worldnow’s National Content Team and must have 2-4 years journalism experience working with an online publication, portal, media or special interest website(s). 

Job functions include: managing feeds, feed implementation, content contracts, editorial calendars, and content resources. He/she will be responsible for updating channels with new content (text and video) and creating promos to drive traffic to the channels and their sponsors; integrating content feeds and/or articles from third party providers, and working with the senior leadership on new strategies and applications for audience development.      

Essential Responsibilities:

• Produce engaging content and interactive features for Worldnow's channels and promotions.  This involves securing/integrating/editing/proofing and posting new content and special features.  Some original writing may be involved.
• Implement daily content updates using Worldnow’s Producer - a simple online content publishing tool.
• Identify and evaluate Third-Party content providers as possible partners for our network.
• Coordinate with the Technology team to test and integrate third-party content feeds and applications.
• Work closely with VP on identifying new content teasers and marketing programs to drive traffic to the channels.
• Work with the Advertising Sales team to identify custom content and promotional opportunities for national advertisers looking to market across Worldnow’s network of local TV sites.

Qualification Requirements:

• Experience in local news and digital media.
• Prior online and editorial experience required (2+ years). Work with other Content Management systems a plus.
• Impeccable strategic, writing, organizing, editing and packaging skills.
• Detail oriented with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• Functional knowledge of RSS, XML feeds
• Familiarity with graphic design principles, basic knowledge of HTML and technical aptitude a plus.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with multiple teams including advertising, client services, technology and creative departments.
• Self-motivated and collaborative personality.
• Able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements and multiple short- and long-term projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.  Major course of study in English, communications, marketing, journalism or related coursework preferred.
