• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have ten years of proven journalistic experience or communications.
• Excellent communication skills along with public speaking expertise.
• Must possess highly developed reporting and writing skills.
• Presents own ideas for editorials.
• Should be able to juggle daily deadline requirements and long-term projects as well as page makeup duties.
• Ability to use or learn page layout and video programs.
• Proven aptitude for quick, creative thinking with acute attention to detail.
• Must have ability to manage multiple, changing assignments and meet demanding deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal skills required.  Must be open-minded and able to work in a collegial culture that develops consensus on issues.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance.
