The Midland Reporter-Telegram is accepting résumés for a full-time copy editor and page designer position on our universal desk. The right candidate should have a knack for grammar, punctuation and Associated Press style but also can find inconsistencies in stories and isn’t afraid to ask questions. He or she also should have an eye for page design.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to make a difference at a daily newspaper and who wants to perfect his or her craft at copy editing and page design.
A bachelor’s degree in journalism or English, two years of editing experience, InDesign or Quark knowledge and proficiency in AP style are preferred. Recent college graduates and those who are graduating soon are welcome to apply. Time on a universal desk and experience editing sports copy are pluses.
